If an adult does experience ongoing copper deficiency due to malabsorption disorders, then appropriate amounts have to be regularly supplemented, or food sources with high copper content would have to be consumed on a regular basis. Cocoa products are also a good choice. While only moderately high in copper, they have superior copper bioavailability compared to other food sources.
